Birthday Parties

Let the Maritime Museum staff organize your child’s next birthday party! Bring your group of up to 15 children to have a fascinating and educational experience with our interpretive personnel. Parties are available with either a Pirate or a Mermaid theme.
Duration: 120 minutes

Pirate Party

The young pirate apprentices will learn about the history of pirates and privateers in our first floor gallery, climb to the top of our replica crow’s nest, and be taken on a treasure hunt throughout the museum with an experienced staff pirate.

Mermaid Party

A mermaid interpreter will lead the young mermaids through some of the history and folklore surrounding these fabled denizens of the deep, from Sirens to Selkies. The group will play an active mermaid game and each participant will get to make and take home their very own Sailor’s Valentine!

Mermaid and Pirate Combo Party

Get the best of both worlds with a combined party! Our very own costumed interpreter will tell some ‘tails’ of mermaid and pirate pasts, conduct games in the Courtroom, show the kids how to make Sailor’s Valentine’s and give out balloon swords to take home!

Deluxe Option

In addition to the Pirate, Mermaid, or Combo Party chosen, this option includes

• A themed goodie bag for each child
• Pirate hat and sword for the birthday boy OR Mermaid toy and jewelry for the birthday girl
• Pirate or Mermaid vanilla or chocolate cake for 15

(No changes to this option. A minimum of 72 hour notice is required for the cake)
