On 31 January 2019, we announced our future development proposal for moving back into a refurbished and expanded 28 Bastion Square and to transition to a national Canadian Maritime Museum.
This proposal is phased out accordingly:
- Seismic upgrading and remediation of 28 Bastion Square
- Renovation to 28 Bastion Square (maintaining its historic character)
- Addition of Annex to Building (built to Class A museum standards)
- Construction of an off-site collections storage location (with opportunities to include enough storage space to accommodate repatriated First Nation artefacts)
We have concept building plans available for view. These plans will be regularly updated as we receive feedback from internal and community stakeholders.
We’d love to hear from you!
