SS Princess Sophia Exhibition
On now till March 11th, 2018!
The SS Princess Sophia Exhibition commemorates the 100th anniversary of the tragic sinking of the Princess Sophia, in which everyone on board lost their lives. The Princess Sophia traveled from her home port in Victoria, BC up to Skagway, AK, with stops along the way. Communities in BC, Yukon, and Alaska relied quite heavily on this route to travel. When tragedy struck, all three jurisdictions were impacted heavily and in unique ways.
Now, 100 years later, the three jurisdictions are uniting to commemorate this marine disaster that took more than 350 lives and impacted countless more. Have a look through princesssophia.org to learn about the history of the Princess Sophia, as well as details for the Exhibition including travelling plans, partnering organizations, and ways to get involved. Be a part of the commemoration and help us set a lasting legacy for the future.
