Description: Join The Maritime Museum of BC for a wonderful evening of Music from the Age of Discovery presented by a Great Noyse with special guests, Soprano Elizabeth MacIsaac and Lutenist Darren Smith.

Discover the joyful noyse of a Renaissance wind band playing music from the glorious era of New World explorations. Sounds from fine replicas of original instruments will transform the Maritime Museum’s historic Vice Admiralty Courtroom into a Great Hall from the era of kings and queens and famous maritime explorers. Soprano Elizabeth MacIsaac, lutenist Darren Smith and A Great Noyse present a colourful program of secular and sacred Renaissance music from Europe and the Americas. The playful elegance of Elizabethan lute songs, the deep harmonies of cathedral music and the syncopated rhythms of African inspired pieces from South American settlements combine to make this a concert of sonic diversity and delight

This special evening is scheduled for Wednesday, March 23. The performance begins at 7:30 pm with doors opening at 7:00pm. Tickets are available at the Maritime Museum of BC. General admission price is $18.00 and $15.00 for MMBC Members, Seniors and Students. For more information, or to purchase tickets, please call 250-385-4222.
