The application period is now open for the Abernethy & Gaudin Boatbuilders Ltd. Young Boaters Scholarship and the CBF Boat Bursary. Both are available to prospective boaters who have barriers to accessing the Classic Boat Festival financially. All applications will be reviewed by the Victoria Classic Boat Festival Committee.
Apply via the Boater Registration portal, selecting “Scholarship and Bursary Application”.
The Abernethy & Gaudin Boatbuilders Ltd. Young Boaters Scholarship will cover:
- registration and four days of moorage at the Festival
- two tickets the Friday night opening reception
- two tickets to the Awards Banquet on Sunday.
Applications are due by May 10, 2024, and will be reviewed by the VCBF Committee. Only one scholarship will be awarded per year. Previous winners of the scholarship may apply again, but not in consecutive years. Scholarship winners must be under 40 years of age—this scholarship is meant to help young boat owners access the Festival. If you are over 40 years of age, please see the Boat Bursary form.
Requirements:
- must be under 40 years of age
- must provide personal statement of impact
- must not have received the Abernethy & Gaudin Ltd. Young Boaters Scholarship or the Boat Bursary in the previous year
The VCBF Boat Bursary will cover:
- registration and four days of moorage at the Festival
- two tickets the Friday night opening reception
- two tickets to the Awards Banquet on Sunday.
