SUMMARY:Maritime Masterclasses: 10 Knots Everyone Needs to Know
DESCRIPTION:Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast\, a sailor\, or someone who simply wants to be prepared\, drop in for a hands-on demonstration of ten essential knots. Learn some practical applications and participate in knot tying challenges!   \n\n\n\nThis is a come and go drop-in session starting at 2:00 PM and running until 3:30 PM.  This program is included in admission or membership\, and does not require registration. \n\n\n\nInstructor Jamie Webb is a third-generation Victorian whose grandfather sailed in the famed clipper Thermopylae in the 1890’s. In 1988 Jamie completed a four-year apprenticeship in Rigging and Sailmaking.  \n\n\n\nFor the last 20 years he has worked for the Royal Canadian Navy and is currently their Senior Protocol Officer. Jamie has been a naval reserve officer and instructor with the Sea Cadet programme since 1983.

Participants paint while learning about these habitats\, their connection to marine ecosystems\, and the environmental risk factors that threaten them. No experience is necessary. Drop in and start creating!  \n\n\n\nThis program is included in the price of admission and drop-in only\, with no registration required. \n\n\n\nAbout the InstructorRay Nufer (she/her) is a visual artist and student living on the traditional territories of the Esquimalt and Songhees First Nations. Her practice focuses on ink & drawing mediums\, digital art\, and printmaking\, and her work centers around themes of connection\, identity\, and uniting personal and collective experiences. Ray strives to bring people together in community and wants participants of her workshops to depart feeling confident in their creative selves.
