Facility Rentals

The Maritime Museum of BC is a unique and intimate venue in Downtown Victoria on the territories of the Lekwungen-speaking Peoples. Our space is best fit for standing reception-style events, meetings, and small wedding ceremonies. We unfortunately do not have the facilities to offer a space for sit-down meals.

All rental inquiries are to be discussed with Museum staff prior to booking. An in-person tour of our space with Museum staff is highly recommended. After the tour, and after we have discussed your event needs with you, we will produce a complimentary custom quote. The information below provides a starting point for discussions.

 Rates

During regular operating hours 50-80 people $175 per hour
During closed hours 50-80 people $125 per hour
Wedding Ceremony during regular operating hours 35 people (seated) $250 per hour
Wedding Ceremony during closed hours 35 people (seated) $200 per hour

Minimum charge

  • $375 for events and receptions
  • $200 for wedding ceremonies

At least an hour before and an hour after each event will need to be booked in addition to the official event times to accommodate set-up and take down. Wedding ceremonies and other rentals requiring no equipment set-up are exempt from this requirement. An additional security fee may be required depending on the type and size of the event.

Food and Drink

Organizations are welcome to bring their own food and drinks.

The Museum does not cater, but we can provide recommendation for local caterers through the Victoria Conference Centre. It is the responsibility of the renting organization to supply their own food. Please discuss your food plans with Museum staff.

The Museum does offer full coffee service and/or bar service for extra fees. Organizations are also welcome to stock and staff their own bar, if they chose. Please also discuss your drink needs with Museum staff.
