What a weekend! We are so delighted to announce that thanks to your generous and targeted efforts, the $25,000 Float the Boat milestone was reached!

We’re not quite finished the campaign yet: there are still two full days to go before it closes, so we are introducing a flex goal for the 2024 Float the Boat campaign.

Can you help us hit our flex goal of $27,500, raising an additional $2,500 specifically for the ongoing and rising costs of Collections storage supplies?

One of our ongoing operations expenses that we’ve discussed previously in these Float the Boat emails is caring for our vast Collection of over 35,000 objects and 40,000 photos. We go through a lot materials every year to keep them safe: acid-free and archival-quality tissue paper, envelopes, boxes, foam, and more. With a new inventory project running, our Inventory Volunteers need these materials as they inventory thousands of objects and situate them on shelves. This flex goal will directly support their important work.

Eighth Milestone Reached!

Thank you for your incredible support for this 2024 campaign. We have $2,500 to go for our flex goal of $27,500 before the campaign closes on April 4.

If you missed it on Facebook, here is the livestream of me doing our $25,000 milestone pour—it’s so exciting to see the boat sailing around the top of the tank!

This year’s campaign will help support our ongoing operations as we continue to offer new programs, exhibits, and events for the public, while caring for our vast collection.

  • We’ll be open 7 days per week starting May 19!
  • New program options for all ages with the launch of Salty Sundays starting May 19.
  • Two new community exhibits will open in 2024, starting with No Walk in the Woods: The History of the West Coast Trail on April 11.
  • Public collection tours will be offered starting Fall 2024—get a look behind the scenes at our collections facility!
  • New look for our front entrance, to improve accessibility and the visitor experience at the front desk and in our gift shop.
  • SV Dorothy’s on tour this summer, attending local festivals in the lead up to our very own Classic Boat Festival.
  • New offerings and programs at the Classic Boat Festival, including the Yacht Dog Café, the Music Program and the Artists Aboard Program.

Inventory Volunteers hard at work in the Collection.

Join in the fun by contributing today: float the boat and put the wind in our sails for 2024!
