Classic Boat Festival:

Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Classic Boat Festival!

Volunteer Intake Form is now closed, but you can still sign up to volunteer by emailing vcbfestival@gmail.com!

The Maritime Museum of BC would not be able to operate the Festival without the dedicated support of our amazing volunteers.

We would like to remind you that shifts are 4 hours long and do require standing and walking around for that length of time. Snacks and breaks will also be provided during your shift. We would greatly appreciate your help in keeping the festival open longer this year, please consider afternoon and evening shifts if you are able.

Volunteer Orientation will be held at the Maritime Museum of BC at 744 Douglas St. We will be handing out Volunteer T-shirts, discussing safety procedures, and going over general information on the festival.

Should you have any questions, please email vcbfestival@gmail.com.

Docks Volunteer

This position involves walking the docks and being an ambassador of the festival.
In our bright yellow shirts, we are very visible to the public and to the boaters. We are asked questions, help people to find particular boats and provide over all safety and security on the docks. This position also works ice sales, and first thing in the morning, and mid afternoon, we send one or two volunteers around and ask the boaters if they need ice. This position is 4 hours long, and works between the main floats in front of the Empress, and the Ship Point docks.

Donations Volunteer

Donations are a big part of the festival, and last year we had over $20 000.00 in donations from just the docks alone! Those donation buckets were overflowing. And the volunteers have a big part in that!
This position involves standing at the top of the dock, asking people for a donation as they enter the festival, and handing out programs and stickers to everyone. This takes place at the top of the dock at the Empress floats, and also at Ship Point where the Marketplace is.

VOLUNTEER Check-In and Support

This position is located at the Maritime Museum where we will base our Volunteer Headquarters. This position will be waiting to greet the volunteers as they check in and out of their shift.
There will be food, water drinks etc. in the kitchen for the volunteers, and they are able to come up to the museum for their breaks.

If you are a Museum Volunteer already, this may be just for you as you are familiar with the ins and outs of the Museum!
THIS POSITION WILL BEGIN AT 0730 EACH DAY.
