Virtual Tea & Talks


Talks are $5.00 + GST per participant. To join, please visit our Museum Store.

Alternating Thursdays at 2:30 PM, Museum volunteers, archival staff, and educators present unique objects from our collection, surrounded by discussions of maritime history and other seaworthy topics – we bring the talk, you bring the tea!


Thursday, May 7th – Becoming Coastal: 25 Years of Exploration and Discovery of the British Columbia Coast by Paddle, Oar and Sail with Alex Zimmerman, author

Thursday, May 21st – The Royal Canadian Navy and the Battle of the Atlantic with Dave North

Thursday, June 4th – The Noxious World of Naval Medicine with Sydney Fuhrman

Thursday, June 18th – The History of the Royal Navy in Esquimalt, BC: 1812-1914 with Dave North

Virtual Trivia Night

The Maritime Museum of BC is starting a brand-new Trivia Night to be held once a month! Advance registration is required. Each Trivia Night will be centered around various maritime subjects. Trivia night lasts 60-90 minutes, and includes 5 rounds of questions. Get together a team in your own home, or link with your friends virtually. You will need access to the Zoom app to participate.

Participation is by donation. Pre-register by filling out the form below. Our staff will then send you a Zoom link for the Trivia Night Meeting!

Maritime Memories

Maritime Memories caters to seniors and special interest groups using the museum’s collection. Choose a theme such as Exploration and Navigation, Immigration, or the Fur Trade, that you would like to explore and discuss during your booking. We discuss the artifacts that relate to the subject matter for participants to learn about. We also invite participants to share their own stories to engage with and learn from one another. Our Maritime Memories program is available as a live virtual booking! To book your program, please contact programs@mmbc.bc.ca.
