The 45th annual Classic Boat Festival was a sight to behold: 85 classic boats, approximately 10,000 visitors to the docks, 50 volunteers, and three wonderful days in the Inner Harbour. We had the Festival in our sights as well, with volunteer and staff photographers capturing the magic. Enjoy these photo collections below of the best of the 2024 Classic Boat Festival!

Sunday Sail Past

An incredible view: boats heading out of the harbour one by one to participate in the annual Sail Past. Vessels salute the Honorary Commodore, Robert G. Allan.

Music Program

The sounds of the weekend: local performers headed to the docks to play maritime music. Some were even aboard vessels! Bands included (left to right): Spindrift, The Naden Band of the Royal Canadian Navy, MMBC’s Salty Singers, Seeking Sirens, Chief and Petty Officers’ Association Band, Hounds of Cuchulain, Kouskous, Bilgewater.

ARTISTS ABOARD Program

Interpreting the Festival ahead of an October 20th Artists’ Showcase in the Maritime Museum of BC gallery, the Artists Aboard artists sketched and painted en plein air during the weekend. With a period aboard SV Dorothy and a Sail Past adventure, we’re sure artists had plenty of inspiration! Artists included (left to right): Richard Linzey, Christina Morrison, Janet Moore, Liz Charsley.

ON THE DOCKS

With docks open all weekend long, there was plenty of opportunity to stroll, look, chat with boaters, and even be invited aboard some vessels! Did you get a Yacht Dogs hot dog on the floating dock?
