Fifth Milestone Reached!

You raised $12,435 so far. Let’s keep the momentum going! We need just $2,565 more to reach the next milestone of $15,000.

In case you missed it on Facebook, here’s the live stream of MMBC volunteer Rachel Schneider pouring water into the tank to mark this fifth milestone.

Community Week

A reminder that March 12 – 16 is Community Week at the Maritime Museum of BC: admission is by donation all week, with all proceeds counting towards the Float the Boat campaign. Just by visiting, you will help put the wind in our sails!

Opening hours are Tuesday – Saturday, 10 AM – 5 PM.

This year’s campaign will help support our ongoing operations as we continue to offer new programs, exhibits, and events for the public, while caring for our vast collection.

  • We’ll be open 7 days per week starting May 19!
  • New program options for all ages with the launch of Salty Sundays starting May 19.
  • Two new community exhibits will open in 2024, starting with No Walk in the Woods: The History of the West Coast Trail on April 11.
  • Public collection tours will be offered starting Fall 2024—get a look behind the scenes at our collections facility!
  • New look for our front entrance, to improve accessibility and the visitor experience at the front desk and in our gift shop.
  • SV Dorothy’s on tour this summer, attending local festivals in the lead up to our very own Classic Boat Festival.
  • New offerings and programs at the Classic Boat Festival, including the Yacht Dog Café, the Music Program and the Artists Aboard Program.

Knotwork bags from the MMBC Collection. Ongoing cataloguing projects for our Collections and Archives will continue throughout 2024.

Join in the fun by contributing today: float the boat and put the wind in our sails for 2024!
