Applications are officially open for both the Abernethy & Gaudin Boatbuilders Ltd. Young Boaters Scholarship and the Maritime Museum of BC Boat Bursary.

Both opportunities are designed to improve access to the Victoria Classic Boat Festival by covering key expenses for boaters. Recipients will receive:

  • Full festival registration
  • Four days of moorage at the Festival
  • Two tickets to the Friday night opening reception
  • Two tickets to the Sunday Awards Banquet

The deadline for all applications is June 15, 2026.
The Victoria Classic Boat Festival Committee will review all submissions.

This scholarship is specifically meant to help young boat owners access and participate in the Festival.

The Abernethy & Gaudin Boatbuilders Ltd. Young Boaters Scholarship will cover:

  • registration and four days of moorage at the Festival
  • two tickets the Friday night opening reception
  • two tickets to the Awards Banquet on Sunday.

Applications are due by June 15, 2026, and will be reviewed by the VCBF Committee. Only one scholarship will be awarded per year. Previous winners of the scholarship may apply again, but not in consecutive years.

Requirements:

  • Must be under 40 years of age.*
  • Must provide a personal statement of impact.
  • Must not have received this scholarship or the Boat Bursary in the previous year. Previous winners are welcome to apply again, but not in consecutive years.

The Boat Bursary supports dedicated boaters who need financial assistance to participate.

The VCBF Boat Bursary will cover:

  • Registration and four days of moorage at the Festival
  • Two tickets to the Friday night opening reception
  • Two tickets to the Awards Banquet on Sunday.

Applications are due by June 15, 2026, and will be reviewed by the VCBF Committee. Only one bursary will be awarded per year.

  • Must not have received this bursary or the Young Boaters Scholarship in the previous year. Previous recipients are welcome to apply again, but not in consecutive years.
