Scholarships and Bursaries

The Abernethy & Gaudin Boatbuilders Ltd. Young Boaters Scholarship will cover:

  • registration and four days of moorage at the Festival
  • two tickets the Friday night opening reception
  • two tickets to the Awards Banquet on Sunday.

Applications are due by May 1, 2023, and will be reviewed by the VCBF Committee. Only one scholarship will be awarded per year. Previous winners of the scholarship may apply again, but not in consecutive years. Scholarship winners must be under 30 years of age—this scholarship is meant to help young boat owners access the Festival. If you are over 30 years of age, please see the Boat Bursary form.

Requirements:

  • must be under 30 years of age
  • must provide personal statement of impact
  • must not have received the Abernethy & Gaudin Ltd. Young Boaters Scholarship or the Boat Bursary in the previous year
This scholarship is meant to aid young classic boat owners in accessing the Festival--please see the Victoria Classic Boat Bursary form if you are over 30.
Please briefly describe how registration to the Victoria Classic Boat Festival would impact you as a young classic boat owner or skipper.

The Costume Contest will be held at the Friday night opening reception on September 1.
Young Boaters Scholarship vessels receive 2 complimentary tickets to the Friday Night reception, and 2 tickets to the Sunday Awards Dinner. Would you like to purchase additional tickets to the event?
