Experience our exhibits in a calm, welcoming, and inclusive space.
We offer dedicated Sensory-Friendly visits for individuals, families, or groups who thrive in a quieter, more subdued environment. When you book a Sensory-Friendly time, we adjust our museum space to provide:
- Dimmed lighting to lower visual stimulation
- Low-volume surroundings for a quieter visit
- A scent-free atmosphere to support sensory sensitivities
Whether you are visiting on your own or with a group, our goal is to ensure everyone can engage with our history comfortably and peacefully.

Visiting during regular museum hours without a booking? Sensory kits are available to borrow free of charge at the front desk anytime during opening hours.
Dallas Road Self-Guided Walking Tour
This self-guided walking tour focuses on maritime history along the Dallas Road Walkway, but there are lots of other things to see, including artwork and local flora and fauna including Nootka roses, bald eagles, sea birds, rufous and Anna’s hummingbirds, blacktail deer, Pacific harbour seals, and occasionally whales such as orcas and humpbacks.

What to expect on your visit.
If we cancel a program or event, you will receive a full refund. If you need to cancel or rebook, tell us within 48 hours prior to the start of the program to receive a full refund. If you are a no-show, or cancel within 48 hours of the program starting, we will not provide a refund.
The closest city parkade is under the Central Branch of the Greater Victoria Public Library on Broughton Street. There is also street parking nearby. More parking spaces are indicated on the City of Victoria website.
Our exhibit and gallery space is accessible for standard and motorized wheelchairs. We have a gender inclusive, single stall washroom available that has a baby change table. While this should be large enough for a standard wheelchair to fit in, a motorized wheelchair will not. We apologize for this inconvenience and are seeking a larger public space where we will have fully accessible washrooms.
